Working Principle

  1. Interception Effect: High-efficiency filter materials such as ultra-fine fibers are used, with their dense and irregular arrangement. This allows tiny particulate matter in the air to be intercepted as it passes through, preventing it from moving forward.
  2. Adsorption Effect: Adsorbent materials like activated carbon are added to the filter materials, which can adsorb pollutants such as smoke, bacteria, and viruses in the air on the fiber surface. Pollutants gradually accumulate on the filter materials with use.
  3. Lamination Effect: Filter materials usually adopt a multi-layer structure. When air passes through one layer of filter material, larger particulate matter is intercepted, and smaller particulate matter continues to pass through to the next layer, achieving multi-level filtration and further improving filtration efficiency.

Structural Composition

  1. Suction Hood: It is used to approach the surgical area and collect the smoke generated during the operation. It is usually connected to the filter box or main unit via a flexible hose. Some suction hoods are also equipped with a hand rest and control buttons, allowing the operator to hold and control the suction direction and start/stop the suction pump conveniently.
  2. Filter Box: It contains multiple filter layers inside. For example, the pre-filter layer can use non-woven fabric to filter large impurities, colloids and other particulate matter; the high-efficiency ULPA filter layer can effectively filter smoke, dust, bacteria, microorganisms and other pollutants with particles larger than 0.12 microns; the regenerable activated carbon layer is used to adsorb harmful gas molecules such as formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene and xylene; the post-filter layer generally uses multi-layer filter cotton to further filter out particulate matter in the smoke and inhibit the spread of microorganisms and viruses.
